CLIENT GUIDE / FEATURE FILM EDITING
For directors and producers ready to begin a long-form edit.
The objective is simple: preserve the footage, the sound and the decisions made on set.
STEP BY STEP
Share the script, approximate runtime, shoot format, production schedule, dialogue languages, creative references and proposed editorial schedule.
Copy the original camera media without renaming clips or changing card structures. Include camera and sound reports, slate notes and available metadata.
Supply original WAV/BWF location audio, wild tracks, room tone and sound reports. Retain recorded timecode and file names for sync.
Include monitoring LUTs, look references, takes or scene notes, existing assemblies and scripts with scene numbers where available.
Tell us the camera codec, total storage size and collaborators. We will plan proxy generation, syncing, media naming, editorial turnovers and backups.
Agree stages for assembly, director’s cut, fine cut, screening changes and picture lock. After lock, we prepare VFX, sound and colour turnovers.
TECHNICAL NOTES
Share the latest native editing project or an agreed interchange file, all linked media, a reference export and a list of known unsupported effects or offline files.
Large camera packages are best sent through a managed cloud transfer or validated physical drives; never rely on an incomplete shared-folder sync as your only copy.
BEFORE YOU UPLOAD
You do not need to generate proxies before contacting us. We will confirm whether original media, proxies, or both are needed.
